Pastel colours are so easy on the eyes. They remind me of what ‘having a good day’ feels like – the carefree and ease of things going just the way you expect. Where it’s a good or bad day, the most important thing to remember is to roll with the punches, and that most of the time there is no point in dwelling on things beyond your control, or try to control things that are beyond you.

Often it’s not how high you can go that matters, its how readily you can pick yourself up when things don’t go your way – keep bouncing!

Les couleurs pastel sont si agréables pour les yeux. Ils me rappellent ce que l’on ressent lorsqu’on passe une bonne journée – l’insouciance et la facilité des choses qui se déroulent exactement comme vous l’attendez. Lorsque c’est une bonne ou une mauvaise journée, la chose la plus importante à retenir est de rouler avec les coups de poing, et que la plupart du temps, il ne sert à rien de s’attarder sur des choses qui échappent à votre contrôle ou d’essayer de contrôler des choses qui vous échappent.

Souvent, ce n’est pas la hauteur que vous pouvez atteindre qui compte, c’est la facilité avec laquelle vous pouvez vous relever quand les choses ne se passent pas comme vous le souhaitez – continuez à rebondir!

About the ‘Transformation’ collection

Inspired by the journey of transformation and renewal, I first started working on this collection whilst on a sabbatical in Brittany, France. In the ‘Transformation’ collection, I play on creating water colour textures with acrylics, and allow the colours and textures on the canvas to speak for themselves. I start each piece in the collection not knowing how the final product will look, and the organic creation process is in itself a journey of transformation for the canvas and acrylics.

Each piece in the collection represents a different transformation story, and I hope it resonates with your own personal journey, and the story that you represent.
